Okefenokee Trailblazers: Archiving the Legacy of Company 1433
SELC tells the story of the Company 1433 Project — archivist Jes Neal and project manager Jennie Berglund’s effort to preserve the legacy of the all-Black CCC company whose canoe trails and infrastructure opened the Okefenokee Swamp to generations of visitors. The landscape Company 1433 helped shape has now been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
