Potomac Chapter #13 Northern Virginia
"Calls it a day"
Norma Burnette, President of Chapter #13, Northern
Virginia, has made the announcement that Chapter #13 has voted to dissolve.
Through the use of a written poll taken earlier this spring, Chapter
members agreed that the
manpower was no longer available to continue regular meetings.
Over the years, Chapter #13 has been instrumental in
serving as a catalyst for the CCC in the northern Virginia area.
Former NACCCA leadership were members of this chapter and helped to
nurture the NACCCA organization before its move to St. Louis.
In honor of her father, Henry Rich, Norma Burnette has
faithfully served as president for many years.
Through a NACCCA resolution, Henry Rich was recognized as the first CCC
enrollee and he was among the first contingent to be at Camp Roosevelt on April
17, 1933.
Chapter #13 has very generously donated the balance of the
funding in the amount of $2,233.43 to
the CCC Legacy Interpretive Center Building Fund.
Special thanks to the members of Chapter #13 for their
continued support of CCC heritage.
