Partnerships promote the CCCThe Corps Network and National Public Lands Day honor the "Boys"The "next generation" gathers momentum
The youth of yesterday joins with the youth of today to celebrate the vast legacy of American conservation heritage. As the 75th anniversary of the Civilian Conservation Corps approaches in 2008, Americans from different generations will be spanning the boundaries of age and conservation.
The Corps Network, National Public Lands Day and the CCC Legacy will join efforts to highlight the work of the men of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Projects designed around planting trees, invasive species control, and conservation maintenance will honor and recognize early custodians of our natural resources.
CCC enrollees of the depression attribute their Corps experience with guiding them into responsible and fulfilling adulthoods. As the youth who participate in Service and Conservation Corps and National Public Lands Day projects, work and play on public land once preserved and maintained by the CCC, we bring awareness to the concept that preserving our natural resources is the business of all generations.
